B. Sc. Marketing

Marketing is one degree that prepares you for a wide range of future careers while giving a solid foundation of business skills, beyond sales. The Marketing program at Southwestern University is targeted at individuals who are interested in business. The course covers everything from market research to advertising.

There is always a job for a marketing graduate because people would always be needed to sell products. Good marketers are always the most valuable in every organization and very often they are in high demand. This means that a good marketer would never be unemployed.

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCESThis marketing BSc has the objective of training good marketers. During the course of your program, you will be taught using lectures, tutorials, presentations and small class-based group activities. You will be introduced to business case studies that mirror real-life situations to hone your decision-making and problem-solving skills in a professional business environment.

There is a wide range of subject areas that one can pursue for further study after earning a BSc in marketing; these areas include Creative Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing Management, Branding and Identity, Food Consumer Marketing and Product Development.

Regarding careers, almost every business organization requires a marketer so there are ample job prospects for a marketing graduate, some of which include working as an advertising planner or executive, public relations officer, advertising copywriter, market research officer, media planner, and event management among other roles.

The minimum entry requirement for admission into the Marketing program at Southwestern University are:

Credit level passes in 5 relevant subjects at (SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB) O’ Level result or its equivalent, obtained at not more than two sittings and with JAMB/JUPEP/IJMB/OND/HND, Advance Level result.

UTME REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must sit for the current JAMB UTME exams and attain the National cut off mark as a statutory requirement for entry into a Nigerian University
